PRE-RACE PREPARATION

 

· Please ensure you have ample rest the night before the race (at least 8 hours of sleep recommended).

· Hydrate yourself with water prior to, and on event day itself.

· If you do fall ill a few days before race day, please seek a doctor’s clearance for your participation.

· Public advice from Ministry of Health:

o Those who develop influenza-like illness (e.g. fever, cough, sore throat, runny nose) can visit the nearest Pandemic Preparedness Clinic (PPC), polyclinic, or their GP clinics for initial assessment and treatment.

o If your condition deteriorates and you develop symptoms such as difficulty in breathing, chest pain, severe and persistent vomiting etc. you should call 995 immediately for an ambulance to transport you to the nearest hospital for treatment.

Before the Race

 

· Before leaving home, please take your temperature. If you develop a temperature above 38⁰C or have developed influenza-like symptoms, please refrain from attending the event.

· You are advised to do your own warm-up exercises before the race.

· Runners are to report attendance at the registration booth (at the amenities centre near the car park) to collect your race bib.

· You must wear your race bib on the front of your running tee at all times during the race (for competitive category runners only).  Any runner without a race bib will not be allowed to take part in the race.

· Runners are required to form up at the START point 15mins before flag-off.

· Water will be provided for runners before the start of the race. However, you are advised not to consume excessive water just before the start.
